Typical costumes, a deep art that is transmitted from generation to generation, where man and women weavers from the municipa of Zunil, reflect their worldview and history.

This is the typical clothing:


TYPICAL SHAWL

It is a handmade fabric with hand embroidered of different sizes and designs with multicolored. Cotton threads or similar colors. It is worn on the shoulders and arms as a coat or ornament.


TYPICAL HUIPIL






Typical Zunil blouse is made of cotton thread with a handmade embroidered of different colors, sizes and designs .of butterflies, pineapples, and baskets

It’s made with industrial machine with different drawings and striking color


TYPICAL SKIRT


It’s a loom woven fabric made of silk threads of various designs and colors. It´s 5 meter long and 60 centimeters wide.


CEREMONIAL HUPIL

 It’s a fabric made of cotton with three colors combining White with black or White and purple with multicolored embroidering of different drawings

 It’s worn mainly in cultural activities.


TYPICAL NAPKIN

It’s a piece of cotton cloth of various colors and similar colors with different sizes

Serves to wrap corn tortillas to clean and dry hand.


TYPICAL BELT

It is a fabric made of multicolored cotton or silk threaded with similar colors

It´s 2.45 meters long and 4-6 centimeters wide. It´s used to hold the skirt.

TYPICAL HEADBAND

 It’s a loom fabric of made or multicolored cotton or silk thread and similar colors of different designs, 2.55 meters long and 3 centimeters wide.
